MARRAKESH

Create a graceful, seamless finish

Natural, graceful and versatile, ROCKCOTE Marrakesh is a traditional lime plaster that allows the artisan to create a wide range of decorative and functional finishes for interiors and exteriors.
Marrakesh is the ideal product for a traditional flat lime plaster look; a marble plaster aesthetic; or for contemporary projects, a smooth polished concrete look.

Drawing on traditional Tadelakt and Moroccan plaster finishes, Marrakesh delivers a smooth, lustrous look with an unrivalled soft, elegant appearance for full interiors, feature walls and columns. It can add appeal as a feature finish for sculpted bedheads, handcrafted dado rails, fireplace surrounds and entry areas.

Create a seamless Tadelakt inspired bathroom where the smooth curve of one element flows into another, evoking a sense of ease and continuity not felt in a standard bathroom. Marrakesh is an ideal product for achieving tile-free bathroom walls, without the need for grout. It can be used for walls, shower walls and splashbacks in wet areas (bathrooms, showers, laundries and toilets) but is not recommended for areas where water pools such as floors, shower floors, bath tubs or hand basins as their successful application requires an exceptional level of skill and experience.
Colour: natural white. Can be tinted to a wide range of colours using oxides
Finishes: Rustic, Smooth or Lustre
(If a glass face, super-high polished or mirror finish is required, we recommend the use of ROCKCOTE Venetian Plaster.)
Undulations: Level, Lightly Undulating or Heavily Undulating
Note: ROCKCOTE recommends that Marrakesh be applied by a licensed tradesperson who has extensive experience in applying ROCKCOTE Marrakesh for similar applications to your particular project. The success of each project requires the tradesperson to have a thorough technical knowledge of appropriate building design, substrate conditions and their client expectations to determine if Marrakesh is the right product for the particular project.

"Marrakesh" Lime Plaster - Simply Stunning !

There is a new plaster on the block named "Marrakesh" applied by artisans using
the "Tadelakt " process... of  application. Once applied the lime plaster is careful
compressed and rubbed  with  steel, wooden and plastic trowels before polishing
with a stone and olive soap. Over the years the product has taken the name
of the process" Maroccan Tadelakt " ... the importance is in the finish...

As Hard as Marble  - as soft as silk

(WIKI) Traditional tadelakt is produced with the lime of the area of Marrakech.
Tadelakt is a Berber word meaning to rub.

"Tadelakt applied " lime plaster  is the oldest and most prized Moroccan process
in the world. It is unique and was  used as the coating of the old Turkish Hamas
(steam houses) Riads and palaces of Morocco. The plaster is worked and polished
with pure olive soap to add to the shine, but perhaps even more important, it makes
sure the surface is left waterproof.Making it ideal for bathrooms.
